Other Conditions

Various conditions are managed within the scope of general surgical practice. These include soft tissue lesions such as lipomas (fat lumps underneath the skin), skin lesions, breast lumps (described elsewhere), abdominal pain, bowel pathology and anorectal conditions. Assessment of abdominal symptoms may require the use of specialized investigations e.g. CT imaging, colonoscopy etc. The surgeon will take a thorough history, perform an examination and organize the necessary investigations.
